Gorilla eraser

September 15, 2010 ☞ Personal inventory

This highly detailed simian sculpture is both a pencil eraser and a commentary on biodiversity. As you pass time erasing graphite, you experience the disappearance of gorillas on both a literal and symbolic level. A clever way to convey the issues involved with endangered species, I guess. Also, it’s a badass-looking gorilla.

2% of the sales of these erasers go to the Centre of Biological Diversity. I don’t know where to get them, but you could ask me for mine. I feel too guilty rubbing this monkey out.
